Roberta June (Aitchison) Hoft, age 91, of Ft. Myers, FL and formerly of Waterbury, entered into rest on Saturday, January 6, 2024 at her home. She was the devoted wife of the late Herbert Hoft. Roberta was born on June 6, 1932 in Waterbury, daughter of the late Robert and Dorothy (Hibbard) Aitchison.
Roberta grew up in Waterbury, attending local schools and worked for Unisys as a transport operator. On June 10, 1950 she and Herbert were married and enjoyed many years together. They were both active members of the Waterbury Elks Lodge #265 and the Ft. Myers Lodge following their retirement. Roberta loved dancing and bingo and playing cards, pinochle and set back with friends.
She is the beloved mother of Sandra (John) Colucci of Waterbury; Cindy Wilson of Ft. Myers, FL; Robin (Mike Cossu) Tentoni of Harwinton; Robert (Francine) Hoft of Waterbury; and Terry (Gregg Peterson) Osborne of Cape Coral, FL. She is also survived by her cherished 12 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren; her loving sister, Shirley Aitchinson of Southington and several loving nieces and nephews. Roberta was predeceased by her daughter, Cheryl Jones and her grandchild, Timothy Jones.
A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, January 15, 2024 at 11:00 A.M., in New Pine Grove Cemetery, 950 Meriden Rd., Waterbury, CT.
