- Paul, my condolences and prayers to you and your family over the loss of your father. Although I´ve never met Jack, the stories people are sharing are a tribute to the beautiful man he was. Not only do you look like your father but you share his sense of humor and his caring nature.

So very sad to hear of Jack´s passing. I worked for him for 20 years at Pittsford Mendon high school. He was very kind and supportive. He loved to talk about Syracuse and their sports program. He was a wonderful man who loved his school and community.

Mr Holzwarth used to call me into his office every Friday to find out what Time I was leaving and what class I was cutting to leave. Even now it makes me smile. He always told me I was quite the character. He has had a special place in my heart for almost 50 years because he cared. A good and decent man. An honor to have known him .

David Knickerbocker.... My wife and I had Jack in his first year of teaching chemistry. Everyone learned a lot from him. He was a good guy, he was nicknamed "Happy Jack." He was a very happy soul, and will be sorely missed. Class of 1963 Linda, and class of 1964 David Knickerbocker. RIP

I was Susan's 8th grade math teacher. Jack came to open house that year and discretely corrected a word i had misspelled on the black board before the presentation. I was so grateful for his quiet support on my first open house!! Something I never forgot. My condolences to the family.

Dr. Holzwarth was a great administrator when I was in high school. I could approach him with concerns, he would listen and advise. It meant so much to my mom when Dr. Holzwarth called her shortly after my dad's passing and the were able to share memories together. He will be sorely missed in the Pittsford community.

I had the honor of working with Paul for many years at Fremont Elementary in East Syracuse, New York. I see how much Paul looks like his dad! This season of our lives is challenging. Family, friends, and fond memories of your father will help. Hold on to all of these right now.
