John F. Honan, Jr.

Dracut – John F. “Jack” Honan, Jr., beloved husband of Jacqueline (Ouellette) Honan, with whom he shared 57 years of marriage, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 27, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. He was 82.

Born and raised in Lowell, Jack was the devoted son of the late John F. Honan, Sr. and Helen (Cannon) Honan. A proud graduate of Lowell High School, he went on to serve his country in the Army National Guard.

Jack dedicated much of his life to his work as a lineman. He began his 34 year career at New England Telephone, which then became Nynex, before retiring from Bell Atlantic, as a Construction Work Inspector. He was also a proud member of IBEW, Local 2321.

Above all else, Jack cherished his family. Family truly was everything to him. During the years he and Jackie were raising their children, he generously gave his time to the community, serving as President of Dracut Pop Warner and volunteering with the Dracut Boosters. He believed strongly in supporting local youth and took great pride in doing so.

Jack found joy in the simple pleasures of life like boating and spending time at Ossipee Lake Campground, riding motorcycles and passionately cheering on the New England Patriots. He was the self proclaimed “Jack of all trades, master-of-none.” He loved people and could strike up a conversation with anyone he met. Jack had a story for everything, and those stories will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

In addition to his beloved wife Jackie, Jack is survived by his loving children and their spouses: Victoria and Al Langland of Southington, CT; John “Jason” Honan and Kimberly Tierney-Honan of Dracut; and Matthew and Amanda Honan of Dracut. He was a proud and devoted Grampa Jack to ten grandchildren: Timothy, Eric, Brett, and Kathryn Langland; Tayleigh, Noah, Ella, and Cole Tierney-Honan; and Abigail and Colton Honan. He is also survived by his sister, Helaine Carroll of Appleton, WI, and his cherished cat, Bella.

Relatives and friends are invited to Jack's Life Celebration at the McKenna-Ouellette Funeral Home, 327 Hildreth Street, from 9:30–10:30 AM on Friday. His Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 AM at St. Francis Church, 115 Wheeler Road, Dracut. Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery.
