John P Horvath passed away on Oct 26th in Chapel Hill, NC. Born to Michael and Elizabeth Horvath.

John was a lifelong resident of Nanticoke until health concerns in 2023 necessitated his relocation. John enlisted in the army during the Korean War, and served at Camp Kilmar in New Jersey. He was discharged with the rank of sergeant in1952 and a member of American Legion Post 350 for 70 years. He was a member of St. Joseph's ,and St. Faustina's Catholic Churches.

John was employed as a radiologic technologist at The Wilkes-Barre Veterans Medical Center in Wilkes-Barre, retiring in 1988. He was a first baseman with their softball team .

John's lifetime involvement in sports also included baseball, basketball, football, bowling, and fishing. In his later years, John's artistic side was borne out in many types of crafts, and he and his wife, Stella, became avid gardeners. He loved to cook and his clamchowder was always in demand at the 400 Club clambakes.

John was preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Elizabeth. His first son, Christopher, who died in infancy, and by his siblings; Joseph, Twin brother James, Irene, and Elizabeth. His wife Stella(Adamowicz) passed away on Feb. 20th, 2018. John's living, immediate family are daughter Donna Horvath Pittsboro NC. , son and daughter-in-law Michael & Linda Horvath Hunlock Creek, PA. , daughter and husband Mary Elen and William Cole, son and daughter-in-law Christopher J J. and Tracy Horvath Waltherboro , SC. . Grandchildren and spouses Micheline and Peter Noon, Nicholas and Jennifer Horvath. Grandchildren Sophie and Maxwell Horvath, and great grandson, Luke Horvath.

Mass of Interment to be held at the convenience of the family.
