John J. "Jack" Hourigan Jr., 83, passed away peacefully on September 4, 2025, after a short illness.

Jack was born in and raised in Rhode Island and was a long time Millis resident. He was pre-deceased by his beloved wife of 58 years, Karen E. Hourigan, his son, John J. Hourigan III, and his sisters, Ginny Hourigan, Mary Montville, and Christine McPherson.

Jack is survived by his devoted children, Kelly Pateuk, Kristine Biel and her husband, Bruce, and Brandon Hourigan and his wife, Amy. He is also survived by his daughter-in-law, Donna Hourigan, his loving sister, Peggy McLoughlin, his dear companion, Betty Steinman. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren, Elizabeth and John Pateuk, Trevor and Carolyn Biel, Brigit, Meaghan, TJ, Brandon Jr., Ava, and Connor Hourigan, and many nieces and nephews.

A proud New England sports fan, Jack had a lifelong passion for the Patriots, Red Sox, Celtics, and Bruins, and was a longtime Patriots season ticket holder. In his youth, he worked as a lifeguard at Misquamicut Beach in Rhode Island, where his love of the ocean began. In later years, he found joy spending time at Hilton Head, South Carolina, and Lido Beach in Sarasota, Florida. Jack also had a love for gardening and enjoyed watching birds at his feeders.

Jack enjoyed a long career with Polaroid, where he worked for 30 years. Outside of work, he was an avid hobby photographer, capturing the beauty of nature, especially along the banks of the Charles River.

Jack will be remembered for his devotion to family, his love of the beach, his support of the New England Patriots, and his gift for seeing the world through the lens of a camera.

A private family service will be held in his honor.
