JOHN CALVIN HOVER II passed away on July 18th, 2025, at the age of 82.

He leaves behind his wife, Jacqueline W. Hover, his daughter Molly Hover McCooey, son-in-law Mark J. McCooey, and grandchildren Caroline Curry McCooey and John Hover McCooey.

Mr. Hover was the son of the late John Curry Hover and Edith Hopkins Hover. He was raised in Short Hills, NJ. He graduated from the Lawrenceville School and went on to graduate from the University of Pennsylvania with a BA and an MBA from Penn's Wharton School. After graduate school, he joined the Chemical Bank in New York City and later the United States Trust Company of New York. There he became Executive Vice President and a member of the management committee, where he focused on the private banking business and grew the company into a recognized leader in that area.

Mr. Hover was dedicated to alumni involvement with the University of Pennsylvania. He became a Trustee of the University and was a founder and later President of the Penn Club of New York. He was Chairman of the Overseers of the Penn Museum and a recipient of the university's Alumni Award of Merit.

Mr. Hover served as a Deacon, Elder, and Trustee of The Brick Presbyterian Church in NYC. He was a director of the Tweedy, Browne Fund Inc. In addition, he was a member of The University Club, St. Andrew's Society, Psi Upsilon Fraternity, Society of Colonial Wars, American Legion, and the First Troop Philadelphia City Cavalry. He was made Commander of the Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem.

John and Jaqui have lived in Bucks County, PA for 34 years. John was an owner and a Director of the New Hope & Ivyland Railroad and the New Hope Historical Society, and served on the New Hope Zoning Hearing Board.

There will be a memorial service on Saturday, September 27th, 2025, at 11am at The Brick Presbyterian Church in New York City.
