John David Hovey (JD) entered into his Heavenly home on June 22, 2025 surrounded by his family. Born on May 5, 1959 in Auburn, California; JD grew up moving throughout the country.

In 1983 he met his beautiful wife, Vicki Smart. They were married on February 10, 1984 in Dalhart Texas. The Hoveys began their family in Dalhart Texas with their son Bobby Hovey. Later they would add Crystal to their family. In 1987 the family moved to Delta Colorado where Cameron and Tori were added to complete their family of 6.

JD was a jack of all trades and able to do just about anything! He was known by his family to enjoy fishing, the great outdoors, camping, hunting, riding his motorcycles until he was not able to do those any longer. There was never a wrestling match that JD didn't enjoy and the family learned to be as quiet as church mice while the smack down was on. JD loved going for coffee every single day with his wife Vicki.

JD is preceded in death by his mother Wanda Hill and father Charles Hovey.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years Vicki Hovey of Delta, Colorado; son Bobby Hovey and wife Shelly of Delta, daughter Crystal Sharkey of Delta, son Cameron Hovey of Cortez, Colorado; daughter Tori Hovey of Delta, Grandchildren Riley Avila, Keegan Sharkey, Cerenity Sharkey, Zenara Hovey, Ravyn Hovey, Michelle Ingram, Leilani Russling, and great-grandaughter Brynleigh Tolka, his brother Rick Hovey, brother Chucky Hovey, brother

Raymond Hovey, sister Deborah Hovey, sister Vicki Hornbaker.

JD was loved very much and will truly be missed.

A service to honor the life of JD Hovey will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday June 27 at Harvest Community Church in Olathe Co with Reverend Joel Arrington officiating.
