John Joseph Hudak, 70, of Edison entered eternal rest on October 28, 2024. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend. John was born on July 25, 1954 in Jersey City, NJ before moving to Edison as a young child. He spent most of his life in Edison, graduating from Edison High School.
After high school, John proudly served in the United States Marine Corps for four years, embodying the values of honor and courage that defined his character, initially stationed in Hawaii. Following his service, he transitioned to a position at Twin County Grocers and then began his career as a truck driver for Exxon and Sunoco. John dedicated himself to his work until he retired from Sunoco in May 2023.
John was an adventurous spirit with a love for life. He had a deep passion for hunting and was an avid gun enthusiast. An animal lover at heart, John always had a soft spot for his dogs, treating them as cherished members of his family.
Family was everything to John. He cherished his role as a father and was especially proud of being a grandfather. His grandchildren were the light of his life, and he never missed an opportunity to create lasting memories with them. John's good humor, compassion and kindheartedness made him a source of strength and joy for those who knew him.
In addition to his love for family, John had a passion for cars and motorcycles. He also enjoyed running and working out.
John is predeceased by his parents, John A. and Marie (n. Wrublewski) Hudak.
John is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Nancy (n.Philpot) Hudak, his sister, Rose Marie Sayben; his daughters: Marjorie M. Hudak and Amanda Chaneski, and her husband Scott; his treasured grandchildren, Alieya, Kennedy, Amira, Maverick, many nieces, a nephew, and his beloved dog Harley.
A Visitation will be held Thursday, October 31, 2024 from 1:00pm to 3:00pm and 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Costello-Runyon Funeral Home, 568 Middlesex Ave. (Rt. 27) Metuchen, NJ 08840.
