John Humphreys Obituary

John "Alan" Humphreys, 73, of Murrysville, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2026, in AHN - Allegheny Valley Hospital, Natrona Heights. He was born June 9, 1952, in Williamsport; he was a son of the late Oscar Humphreys and E. Jeanne (Howell) Humphreys. Alan was a 1970 graduate of Penn Hills High School, a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, and in 1992, obtained his associate's degree in radiologic technology from CCAC. He served our country with the United States Marines. Alan worked as a health and physical education teacher and was later employed as an X-ray technician and security guard. Alan was a member of First Baptist Church in Vandergrift and the Vandergrift Sportsmen Association. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was an avid runner. Alan is survived by his wife of five years, Lisa G. (Shellhammer) Humphreys; stepdaughter, Katy (Ryan Goodpasture) Liska-Case of St. Petersburg, FL; sister, Mary Beth (Mike) Wilkins of Hilton Head, SC; sister-in-law, Dawn; several nieces and nephews; and one great-niece. At Alan's request, all services are private and have been entrusted to CURRAN-SHAFFER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY INC., Apollo. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Alan's name to the National Kidney Foundation, 2403 Sidney St., Suite 205, Pittsburgh, PA 15203.
