John P. "Sonny" Hurd

John P. "Sonny" Hurd age 89 of Hamilton passed away Friday August 12, 2022. He was born March 6, 1933 in Hamilton, Ohio the son the late John S. and Mayme (nee Flynn) Hurd. Mr. Hurd was a 1951 graduate of Hamilton High School and was a veteran of the U. S. Army. He worked as a union heavy equipment operator for many years. He was an avid bass fisherman and also enjoyed bowling and jitterbug dancing. Mr. Hurd is the father of Lynda Lilly, Sonny (Lavina Anglin) Hurd, Kathy (Eric) Daniel, Tommy (Paige) Hurd, Chris Hurd, and the late great Gary "Eddie" Hurd; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, including Nate, Luke the Duke, and Gracie; and great great grandchildren; and one sister Patty Sue (Ralph) Wright. He was also preceded in death by two sisters Wilma Burge and Marie Barger and his grandson Michael Lilly. Visitation at THE WEBSTER FUNERAL HOME 3080 Homeward Way at Rt. 4, Fairfield on Tuesday August 16, 2022 from 11:30 AM until the time of the funeral service at 1:30 PM, with Mr. Hurd's son Pastor Sonny Hurd, officiating.
