HURNEY, John P. Of Newton, died on Monday, September 8, 2025. He was 94. Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Joseph Henry and Marie-Jeanne (Bernier) Hurney. He is survived by his son, Paul and his wife, Loretta; daughter, Elizabeth; and grandson, Nicholas, all of Newton. He was predeceased by Beverly (Cobbs), his wife of 65 years, in 2024. Funeral Mass at St. John the Evangelist Church in Wellesley Hills on Saturday, September 13, at 11:00 am. Visitation on Friday, September 12, form 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm, at the Henry J. Burke & Sons Funeral Home, 56 Washington Street, WELLESLEY. Burial will be private.
