A Bardstown resident, Mr. John Gerald "Jerry" Hutchins, age 84, passed away Wednesday, May 7, 2025 at his residence. He was born March 12, 1941 in Samuels to the late John L. and Alma Vittitoe Hutchins. He was a retired chemical operator for Rohm and Haas and he attended St. Joseph Catholic Church. Jerry was a great car enthusiast. He was a fan of the NHRA, he enjoyed going to car shows and loved anything to do with cars. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Lynne Hutchins, 2 sisters, Shirley McGoff, Donna Faye Hutchins and 2 brothers, Richard Gene Hutchins and Gary Michael Hutchins. He is survived by his wife, Fern Collins Hutchins, his son, Jeffrey Wayne(Donna) Hutchins, his daughter, Tammie Marie (Billy) Noe, both of Mt. Washington, his sister, Vickie Marie (Bernie) Batcheldor of Bardstown, his brother, Joseph L. (Patsy) Hutchins of Bardstown, 2 granddaughters, Whitney Hutchins (Jonathan) Doan of Bardstown, Baylee Nikale (Kevin) Fowler of Bloomfield, 2 grandsons, Matthew Noe of Upton, Corey (Ashley) Noe of Leitchfield, his great grandson, Charlie Johannes, his sister-in-law, Liz Hutchins of Bardstown, several nieces and nephews, and his special dog, Iggy. Funeral services for Mr. John Gerald "Jerry" Hutchins will be 11:00 am Wednesday, May 14, 2025 at the Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home. Fr. Jim Graf will officiate. Interment will be in Bardstown Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 10:00 am-8:00 pm and Wednesday after 9:00 am until time of the funeral service. The Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
