John Marvell Hutchinson Jr. was born September 17th, 1935 in Price, Utah to John Marvell Hutchinson and Ruth Bean Hutchinson. He passed away on March 22nd, 2024.
John married Fawn Susan Sharp in the Salt Lake Temple July 15th, 1960. They met at the University of Utah in the marching band where he graduated in marketing. He served 5 missions for the church; one as a young man serving in the Eastern States Mission, and four additional missions with Susan.
John followed in his father's footsteps in the grocery business and owned Hutchinson's Fine Foods. He really enjoyed his membership in the Utah Retail Grocer's Association. After selling the stores he worked for Salt Lake County Aging Services and enjoyed managing senior centers.
John was a devout member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings over the years. He especially loved working in the Boy Scouts of America. He was an Eagle Scout as a youth and received the Silver Beaver Award as an adult.
John is survived by his five children; Vicki (John), Linda (Dan), Carl (Cynde), Lanae (Jon), Kevin (Stacy), and siblings; Norry (Del) and Ruthann Johnson as well as 19 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his wife Susan, his brother Ben, his parents, and great grandson Aabel.
The family would like to thank his hospice nurse, Kelli Kent, and Aspire Hospice Service for all their kind service taking care of our dad.
