John Franklin Hyde, age 87, of Clifty, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on April 27, 2025. Born in 1937 in Gosnell, Arkansas, he was the son of Vic and Edith Hyde.
John attended school in Gosnell and churches in Gosnell and Blytheville. A former Arkansas National Guardsman, he was a salesman, farmer, carpenter, and worked for Harbison-Walker Company at Nucor Steel in Blytheville, Arkansas. John was known for his generosity and down to earth personality, his wisdom and advice, his friendliness, his sense of humor, and for his uncanny knack of story-telling. He enjoyed woodworking in his shop, spending time outdoors, eating out with family and friends, visiting his wide circle of friends, and reminiscing. John enjoyed spending time with his family including his best canine friend, Pico, watching his ducks and horses, and going for rides in the country.
John was preceded in death by parents Vic and Edith Hyde, brothers Harold and Bill Hyde, aunt Margie Langley, and cousin Donald Hyde.
John was a loving husband and best friend to Carole Seeman Hyde, wife of 66 years, a proud father to son Jimmy Hyde (Denese) of Blytheville, AR, and two daughters, Pamela Stegall (Mark) of Rogers, AR and Cheryl Tupper (Brent) of Clifty, AR, and beloved brother to Glenda Roach of Jonesboro, AR. He is also survived by grandchildren Azsha Sharon (Shane), Andy Stegall (Caitlin), John Russell Overman (Emily), Scott Stegall (Kassidy), and great grandchildren Ryker and Silas. John also leaves behind cousins Carol Ann Fortier of Riverside, CA, Debbie Moore of Ash Flat, AR, and Gary Hyde of Blytheville, AR.
A celebration of life will be held privately. Arrangements have been made with Epting Funeral Home of Bentonville, AR.
The family wishes to thank all who have cared for John in the past, including Circle of Life Hospice (Bentonville).
