John Gerald Hykal Age 82, passed away peacefully on August 28, 2025. Born on July 7, 1943, in Nashville, Tennessee, John was the son of Nola (Conrad) and the late John J. Hykal. He was a proud retiree of Plumbers Local 98, where he dedicated many years of skilled work and friendship. John is survived by his devoted wife, Barbara Jean (Angevine), and his loving daughter, Nancy Ann (Kenneth S.) Moore. He was preceded in death by his son, Donald L. Hykal. Cherished grandfather of Brett D. Fellows, Dylan (Sarah) Fellows, and Mackenzie Hykal, and adoring great-grandfather of Lucas and Aurora Fellows. He will also be deeply missed by his brother, Frank E. (Ann) Hykal, and sister, Fran (Wayne) West. Survived by Brother-in-law James (Jackie) Angevine. Also survived by nieces and nephews. A man with a love for the outdoors, John found joy in hunting, dirt biking with the Cycle Conservation Club, and spending quiet moments in his chair outside, watching the wildlife-squirrels, deer, turkeys, and ducks-that surrounded him. His simple pleasures and warm presence will be fondly remembered by all who knew him. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Parkinson's Foundation. www.parkinson.org
