John Iacobelli

John Iacobelli (June 27, 1935-Dec.27, 2024)
John was born on June 27, 1935 to Zelinda and Louis Iacobelli. He spent the first 12 years of his life in Pennsylvania before coming to the South Beach area of Staten Island. He graduated from St. Peter's High School and spent time in college at Villanova and Wagner. He joined his father and brother-in-law, Arthur Sica, in running South Beach Supermarket, a local grocery store that was a staple in that community. After selling the business in the early 1980s, John became a manager for a few years at American Golf. John loved playing the game with family and friends and would regularly been seen on the links at LaTourette, Silver Lake and South Shore. John was a religious man who was a regular attendee at daily morning mass at Our Lady Queen of Peace. He and his family were active at Our Lady of Lourdes in New Dorp Beach. John was married to Carol Iacobelli (nee' Lewis) for 61 years until her passing in February 2023.John and Carol were devoted to each other and enjoyed regular trips to Atlantic City.
The couple had four children, Peter, Susan, Louis and James. The couples' daughter, Susan, preceded them in death in 2008. John also is survived by three grandchildren, Ronald John, Peter Anthony and Sophia Rose.
