John "Jack" F. Greer passed on Wednesday February 19, 2025 at age 88, of Ingram Borough. Husband of the late Mary Ann (Cushanick) Greer; Father of John (Deenie) Greer; Grandfather of Morgan (Bryan Pavan), Mia (Joe) Greer-Boulos, and Drake (Kathleen Gaeta) Greer; Great-grandfather of Sam Boulos; Brother of Tim (Joanie) Greer, Carol (Jim) Montgomery, and the late Andrew (surviving spouse Bernie) Greer, Joan (Bob) Pettigrew, and Bill (late Alberta) Greer; Survived by many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and Friends received Sunday from 12:00 Noon - 6:00 pm at the Thomas P. Kunsak Funeral Home, Inc., 3552 California Avenue at Davis Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15212. A Funeral Mass will be held in St. Philip Catholic Church Monday at 10:00 am. Interment in Christ Our Redeemer Cemetery.
A very kind and generous man, Jack was devoted to his large family and the catholic church. He looked forward to attending mass daily and twice on Saturday's as Sunday was "his day off". His Saturday mornings typically included scripted stops to see family members. He loved his time three days a week with his friends from Silver Sneakers and talked fondly of the program.
Jack was a proud member of the Bricklayers Union #9 and worked for many years as a ceramic tile installer before retiring. He also spent many enjoyable years working with the young athletes of the CIT youth baseball program as well as the Crafton Little Cougars Football program as an assistant coach and head coach. Jack's best days were spent at family dinners with his son, daughter-in-law, three grandchildren and great-grandson. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Little Sisters of the Poor, 1028 Benton Ave, Pgh., PA 15212, littlesistersofthe poorpittsburgh.org/donate.
