A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Thursday, August 29, 2024 at 2:00 pm in St. Peter Church of Carencro for John E Jagneaux, 92, who passed away August 26, 2024 at The Carpenter House. Father Christopher Cambre, pastor of St. Peter Church, will be the Celebrant of the funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Charlotte Hynes and Brook Lemaire will be the lectors; gift bearers will be Kim Guidry and Holly Alvarez. Interment will follow the mass in Calvary Cemetery. 

Survivors include two sons, Kurt (Kathy) Jagneaux and Paul Faron Jagneaux, both of Lafayette; one daughter, Lynn Jagneaux of Lafayette; one sister, Theresa Benoit of Church Point; three grandchildren, Brook Lemaire, Charlotte Hynes, and Sean Alexander Jagneaux; and two great-grandchildren, Holly Alvarez and Kayden Scott.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Delsy Jagneaux; one daughter, Catherine Hynes; three brothers, Elie Jagneaux, Joe Jagneaux, and Kenneth Jagneaux; five sisters, Ella Mae Daigle, Ada Mae "Johnny" Hebert, Mary Boudreaux, Beverly Guidry, and Jermaine Richard; and one granddaughter, Ashley Ryan.

John was a native of Church Point and resident of Lafayette for 50 years. He was a member of the United States Air Force and served his country with honor for more than 22 years. After his military service, John went on to work for South Central Bell Telephone Company as a lineman. He retired after 20 years of service.

Pallbearers will be Kurt Jagneaux, Paul Jagneaux, Alex Jagneaux, Lonn Guidry, Joey Prevost, and Richard Jagneaux. Honorary pallbearers include Lawrence Olivier, Adriano Feit, and the McDonald's Breakfast Crew.

The family requests that visitation be held Thursday between the hours of 8:00 am - 1:30 pm at Walters Funeral Home. A rosary will be led by Sr. Doris Roy, S.E.C. at 10:30 am.
