Mr. John Jenkins, age 87, of Boaz, Alabama, died on Friday, September 19, 2025, at Shepherds Cove Hospice.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at the New Hope Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Ricky Harcrow and Elder Kenneth Watts officiating. Interment will follow in the Douglas Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm at the Church.
Mr. Jenkins was born in Alabama on February 18, 1938, to Charles Franklin & Easter Maybelle Boozer Jenkins. He retired in 1980 from the U.S. Army 101st Airborne with 23 years of dedicated service. He was a lifelong member of the Boaz VFW post 6837.
Mr. Jenkins is survived by his Wife: Emma Gail Watts Jenkins. Sons: Steven & Janice Jenkins of Hokes Bluff, John Lamar & Judy Jenkins of Florida. Daughter: Kelley Salamone of Boaz. Grandchildren: Christopher Stout, Austin Butler, Emma Lily Jenkins, Katie Jenkins. Great Grandchildren: Eva Whitmore, Charlie Whitmore, Lily Patton. Sisters & Brother-in-Law: Joyce Ann & Randy Parker of Grant, Melba June Jenkins of Michigan. Special Friends: Chandler Billingsley, Rhonda Spurling, Judy Carroll.
Mr. Jenkins was preceded in death by his Parents: Charles Franklin & Easter Maybelle Jenkins
Pallbearers will be Steven Jenkins, John Lamar Jenkins, Chandler Billingsley, Austin Butler, Garrett Tipton, Ava Tipton.
Family requests no flowers donations to New Hope Primitive Baptist Church, Douglas Cemetery fund or Shepherd’s Cove Hospice.
