Mrs. Zaner Faye Hand Ledbetter, age 92, of Boaz, passed peacefully into the arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ, September 22, 2025, at her residence.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at two o’clock pm in the McRae Chapel with Rev. Mat Alexander officiating. Interment will follow in the High Point Cemetery at Horton. Visitation will be Thursday, September 25, 2025, from noon until service time.
Mrs. Ledbetter was born in Hebron, Alabama on August 11, 1933, to Virgil Columbus and Cordelia Frances Hornbuckle Hand. She worked for many years in restaurants around Sand Mountain and for several years at Hammer’s Department Store. She retired to travel with her husband, Paul. She cared for him until his passing in 2012. Zaner was a member of the First Baptist Church Boaz where she enjoyed participating in Senior Adult Choir, Keenagers, and Sunday School. She enjoyed cooking and feeding her family and anyone who graced her table. She was the mother of seven, grandmother of 15 and the great grandmother of 20, and great great grandmother of two.
Mrs. Ledbetter is survived by her Sons: Glenn (Cathy) Franks and Gary (Anissa) Ledbetter, Daughters: Valerie (Chris) Alexander and Janet (Donald) Turner, Grandchildren: Carrie Williams, Carla Bell, Lauren Howard, Kelly DuPree, Mat Alexander, Megean Knight, Gary Ledbetter, Jr. Brittany Belden, Casey Ledbetter, Jaron Franks, Lenze Ramage, Jacob Turner, Elizabeth Ledbetter, Erika Underwood, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded by her parents: Virgil & Cordelia Hand, Husband: Paul Ledbetter, children: Karen Franks Smith, Lenis Ledbetter and Mark Ledbetter and granddaughter: Beverly Franks. The family would like to thank her special caregiver, Darla Mitchell.
Pallbearers will be Rick McCollum, Ken McCollum, Casey Ledbetter, Jaron Franks, Kaleb Williams, and Ethan Jolley. Honorary Pallbearers will be her grandchildren, great and grandchildren, and her great great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Shepherd’s Cove Hospice, 408 Martling Road, Albertville, AL 35951.
