John Andrew Jimenez Sr., of San Antonio, TX, knocked on heaven's door to be with God on May 20, 2023, at the young age of 65.
John was born in San Antonio, TX to Carolina S. Jimenez and Rosalio P. Jimenez on November 6, 1957. He was one of nine children. He graduated from Memorial High School. He later joined the U.S. Army.
In 1980, John left the Army to be with the love of his life, Sandra Lopez Jimenez, who he loving called Mama. All it took was one disco dance of love and the rest was history. Together, through thick and thin, they built a beautiful life and were happily married with four children. Their love held strong for 43 years. There was never a dull moment in their home. Summers were filled with impromptu vacations to Corpus, BBQs in the backyard, trips to the river, and so much more fun.
John was a great provider for his family. He worked as an Auto Technician, and knew cars like the back of his hand. He was the man you took your car to if you wanted the job done right. Even in his time off, he helped out family and friends with their car troubles.
He was a big jokester always trying to make others laugh. He laughed at his own jokes, even if you didn't. But his laugh was so contagious that you couldn't help but join in the laughter. He was also known to do a prank here and there.
In his free time, you could find him playing with his grandchildren, taking his Mama on dinner and movie dates, BBQing, drinking a cold one with friends and family, fishing, going on impromptu vacations, or watching a Spurs game yelling, "Put me in Pop!" at the TV. He also loved drinking his coffee outside in the early morning, taking naps, watching sunsets and just taking in nature's beauty.
Waiting for him in heaven were his parents, Carolina S. Jimenez and Rosalio P. Jimenez; and siblings, Barbara Jimenez, Jesus Jimenez, and Thomas Jimenez.
He will be greatly missed everyday by his devoted Wife: Sandra Lopez Jimenez; his Children: Michelle Jaramillo (husband, Refugio), John Andrew Jimenez Jr., Lorenzo Jimenez, Martin Luis Jimenez (wife, Monica), and Julie Lopez; his Grandchildren: Izach (fiance, Mya), Robert, Colin, Angelica, Ysela, Gabriella, Zelena, Kai'san, Noah, and Maya; his Siblings: Katherine, Rosalio, Cecilia, Luis, and David; his Cuñados, Compadres and many more extended Family Members and Friends.
As John would always say instead of goodbye, "I'll see you, when I see you." Because one day, we will see each other again.
