John Edwin "Jack" Johnson DDS

John Edwin Jack Johnson, D.D.S., 91, of Louisville passed away on Monday, August 22, 2022, with his family by his side.
He was the son of Richard Spalding Johnson and Margaret Vize Johnson of Waverly, KY, born on August 9, 1931.
Preceptorship, Joseph E. Johnson, DDS (1958-1960). Dr. John Johnson practiced Orthodontics in New Albany, IN from 1963 until his retirement in 2000. He received his undergrad from St. Louis University, and graduated 1956 from the St. Louis University School of Dentistry. He was a Diplomate, American Board of Orthodontics, Board of Directors, Secretary, the de Paul School, 1974-1978; member of the American and Indiana Dental Associations; American Association of Orthodontists; President of Southern Component from 1968-69 and contributed articles to professional publications.
Dr. Johnson was a Captain in the United States Army from 1956-1958. He was member and past president of the New Albany Rotary Club, founder of the New Albany Rotary Toast. Dr. Johnson was also a member of Big Springs Country Club, the Filson Club, Knights of Columbus Bishop Spalding Council, and St. Louis Bertrand Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Margaret Smith Johnson; daughter, Catherine Hundley (Ray); son, Michael Johnson (Leslie); five grandsons, Meyer and Clay Hundley; David, Matthew (Peyton), and Wyatt Johnson and great-granddaughter, Ava Marie Johnson.

Visitation will be from 5-7 pm on Thursday, August 25, 2022, at Ratterman Funeral Home, 3711 Lexington Road, St. Matthews. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1 pm Friday, August 26, 2022, at St. Louis Bertrand Catholic Church, 1104 S. 6th Street, followed by burial in Calvary Cemetery.
Memorial gifts in the form of contributions may be made to Mass of the Air or St. Jude Children s Research Hospital.
