John Johnson Obituary

John was born on December 20th, 1956 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania to Allen and Helen Johnson, moving around in his early childhood as a Navy child until settling in Redford Michigan at the age of eleven. After graduating high school John followed in his father's footsteps and joined the U.S. Navy in 1975, earning various awards and medals throughout his 20 year Navy career. Retiring with Classification Chief Petty Officer in 1995, while staying in a fleet reserve status from 1995-1997.
An avid Detroit Lions and Jacksonville Jaguars fan you could always find John watching a game in his garage turned man cave and spending time with his neighbors that stopped by. John also loved playing his guitar with his son Darrell. One of their favorite songs to play was "The race is on" by Sawyer Brown.
John is survived by his daughter Rachel Johnson, Grandchildren Morgan and Dalton Potter and Ethan Studder all of New York. Step-daughters Shauna, Laura and Danielle.Sister Kathy and Brother-in-law Rick. Nieces Andrea and husband Shawn and Tiffany and husband Benjamin all of Michigan. Also significant loved one Roberta. John is predeceased by his parents Allen and Helen. Son Darrell A. Johnson and daughter Stephanie P. Johnson.
A celebration of life was held on Friday December 1st.
