John Steven “Steve” Johnson, 67, passed away Saturday, May 10, 2025. He is survived by his wife, Doris Sykes Johnson; son, John Hunter Johnson; and brother, Robert “Bob” Johnson. Steve was born in Aiken, son of the late Johnny Johnson and Geneva Mixon Grandy.
Steve will always be remembered for the roles he played in his life and the lives of others: husband; father; family member; German Shephard daddy; cat daddy; friend; brother; uncle; brother-in-law; camper; canoer; fisherman; swimmer; Clemson football fan; “Solo Builders”; Tigernet blogger; old rock n’ roll music lover; griller; fire builder; beach lover; dreamer; and “Jack of all Trades.”
The family will celebrate Steve’s life with a visitation from 6:00-8:00 PM Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, please direct memorial contributions to Augusta University Foundation, 1120 15th Street, HS3200/PAE, Augusta, GA 30912. Please make checks payable to “Augusta University Foundation” and include “John Steven Johonson - Cancer Research – Fund #211500” in the memo section. This is the Hematology Oncology Group that took such excellent, professional care of Steve and who he believed in. We hope donations will help with their research to save another life.
