John Johnson Obituary

Published by Legacy on Oct. 18, 2025.
John Ronald Johnson, 71, of Kansas City, Missouri, went home to be with Jesus on October 15, 2025. John, known as Ron to those close to him, was born on April 10, 1954, in Kansas City, Missouri. He married the love of his life, Julie Johnson, on October 1, 1976. He graduated from Texas A&M University, where he earned a degree in Fire Science and later attended Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary earning a degree in Divinity. He proudly served as a Kansas City Firefighter and a Fire Protection Seargent at the Kansas City Plant for 35 years. Following retirement, he continued his service as Fire Chief for the Western Cass Fire Department. He was especially proud of his children and grandchildren, celebrating their accomplishments in school, youth activities, military and Scouts. He had an amazing singing voice and enjoyed singing karaoke with family and friends. He was also a proud member of the Kansas City Metro Men's Chorus. Ron was the kind of man who was always helping others, fixing homes, cars, computers, or appliances, never hesitating to lend a hand. Together, Ron & Julie were active and devoted members of LifeQuest Church and loved their church family.

John was preceded in death by his parents, John and Margaret Johnson. He is survived by his loving wife, Julie Johnson; his children, Christie (Wade) Williams, John (Kristin) Johnson, and Jeramie Johnson; grandchildren, Braden Williams, Alyssa Williams, Madison Johnson-Hicks, Calla Johnson, Kacie Johnson, Kendall Johnson, and Jaiden Johnson; sister, Sharon Gough, and several extended family members and dear friends.
Ron's legacy of faith, family, and service will continue to live on in the many lives he touched. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 24, 2025, at LifeQuest Church, 1400 N. Scott Ave., Belton, Missouri 64012.
