John Joseph LaFianza III It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of John Joseph LaFianza III, a devoted husband, brother, uncle and friend, who departed this life peacefully on January 12, 2025, at the age of 66. Born on October 21, 1958, in Hackensack, New Jersey, John lived a life filled with purpose, love, and dedication to his family and friends.
He was the beloved husband of Lisa LaFianza, his partner and best friend for 35 years. Together, they built a life centered on family, compassion, and shared adventures. John was admired for his quick wit and cherished for his warm spirit, kindness and his desire to make you laugh. Though John and Lisa did not have children, he shared his love generously with his extended family, friends, and community.
He is survived by his siblings Mark Campbell, Angela Jobe, Paul LaFianza, and Ron LaFianza. John was also a proud uncle to his nieces Lisa Gennarelli, Dana Murray, Alyson Bongiorni, Megan Malatino, Zoe Jobe, Sophia Jobe, Alyssa LaFianza, Kimberly Baker and nephews Ronnie LaFianza, Jonathan Nisi and Richie Miska. He was deeply loved by many grandnieces and grandnephews, and cousins whose lives he touched with his kindness and humor. John was preceded in death by his parents, John LaFianza Sr. and Gertrude LaFianza, and his sister, Pam Gennarelli.
He carried their memories with him always, honoring their legacies through his own life. John's passions included golf, bocce, travel, finding his roots. He found great joy in family gatherings, traveling, making his friends laugh and his pizza oven. His laughter, wit, and generosity of heart will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him. Family and friends are invited to celebrate John's life at a wake on Sunday January 19, 2025, at Patrick J. Conte Funeral Home, 274 Market Street, Elmwood Park from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Funeral Service Monday January 20th 9:00 a.m. Entombment Private

Being a family member and cousin John was a gift to us all that God gave to us. Growing up in Wood-Ridge and living less than a 1/2 mile ie so we as children would play in the woods near our homes ,, go to church at Assumption and have birthdays ,,, I´ll always have great memories of John Angela, Ronald and Paul the Twins ,, cousin Ricky and all the others,,
May you rest with Jesus Christ and we´ll see you soon..
Pray for us on earth,,
Blessed are the meek, they shall inherit it..
