John W. Kienzle, 92, of Bolivar, died Saturday, August 23, 2025 at Hennis Care Centre in Bolivar. Born November 5, 1932 in Dover, he was a son of the late Ralph E. and Verna (Zutavern) Kienzle. He was a 1950 graduate of Bolivar High School and was a Navy Veteran of the Korean War. He retired as a heavy equipment operater, working for area mining companies, construction companies and trucking firms.

John was a member and past commander of the Bolivar American Legion Post 190, Bolivar Sportsman Club, Bolivar Army/Navy Club, St. Paul Lutheran Church, Dover VFW, AARP and the Stark County Gun Collectors His hobbies were hunting and fishing.

John was preceded in death by his wife, the former Wilma E. Bell, in 1984 and an infant daughter. He is survived by a son Kevin Kienzle of Bolivar, a daughter Karen Kienzle of Hobe Sound, Florida, 2 grandchildren John Wayne Kienzle and Roxann E. Kienzle both of Bolivar and a great grandson Gunner.

Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, September 2. 2025 at 11:00 AM at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bolivar with Pastor Mike Pozzuto officiating. Burial will follow in Ft. Laurens Cemetery in Bolivar where the Bolivar American Legion will conduct military honors. Friends may call from 10:00 AM until time of services at 11:00 AM at the church. The Lebold-Smith Funeral Home in Bolivar is handling the arrangements.
