On November 29, 2025, surrounded by the warmth of cherished memories, John J. Koszuta quietly departed this world at the remarkable age of 98, leaving a legacy woven with love and resilience in Cheektowaga, NY. A beloved husband to the late Dorothy E. Koszuta (nee Kasa), John’s life was beautifully intertwined with the bonds of family.
Born to the late Anthony and Ida (nee Malczewski) Koszuta, John was a devoted father who nurtured and inspired his children—Shirley (Lee) Root, Gary (Celeste), and the late David Koszuta. He was a grandfather to Rachel and John, as well as a great-grandfather to Gavin and Audrey.
John was not only a family man but also a distinguished veteran, proudly serving in the United States Navy during World War II. His courage and dedication were hallmarks of his character, traits that touched all who had the honor to know him. John was also employed by Westinghouse for over 35 years.
Predeceased by his beloved siblings—Joseph (late Dorothy), Raymond (late Freda), Florence (late Joseph) Skotarczyk, Mary (late Henry) Berkowski, and Agnes (late Henry) Berkowski—John’s family circle is a testament to a life lived fully, alongside those who have gone before him.
In accordance with his wishes, there will be no prior visitation. Private services have been held to honor his remarkable journey through life. We celebrate his life and the profound impact he had as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
