Mr. John Stewart Krecker, 90, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Monday, January 22, 2024.
John was born in East Orange, New Jersey on September 18, 1933 to the late Preston Stewart and Kathleen (Clunan) Krecker. In addition to his parents, John is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 65 years, Cleo Battle Krecker and his twin brother Richard. John dedicated his life to serving his community, family, and Lord. After receiving his undergraduate degree from Princeton University, John joined the United States Air Force and was stationed in Japan where he met the love of his life, Cleo. John and Cleo wed in 1959 and remained married for 65 years. After the military, John began work in Corning, New York at Corning Glass Company where he advanced over the years to become a president of the company. John was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and dear friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
John is survived by his beloved children; Gregory Krecker, Jeffrey (Nancy) Krecker, and Kimberly (Russ) Ward; four cherished grandchildren; two step grandchildren; and one great grandchild; sisters, Patricia (Alan) Moyer and Gwen Branch; and a host of extended friends and family.
A service celebrating the life and love of John and Cleo will be held at a later date.

I have many fond memories of traveling with John in Japan. It was not uncommon that in Tokyo he´d direct the taxi driver to a more efficient route. Whenever we needed to meet, he´d specify at precise time, like 6:28 instead of 6:30. That made us prompt. Although he knew Japanese, in our meetings he´d only use Japanese greetings. Often in meetings when our Japanese hosts would think they´re privately speaking to themselves but within earshot, sometimes he´d interrupt to alert them that he understood. A few times he would not!
