John C. Kukich Sr.

1949 - 2022

John C. "Jack" Kukich Sr., 72, of Penn Township, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2022. Jack was born July 17, 1949, in Greensburg, to the late Theodore C. Kukich Sr. and Edith (Hazlett) Backus. He is survived by his beloved spouse of 52 years, Lois (Walch) Kukich; a son, John C. (Dee) Kukich Jr. of Penn Township; a daughter, Kristi (John Eric) Lansberry, of West Decatur; six grandchildren, Sammi, Nick, Dave, Chris, Haley and Ethan; and two sisters, Cindy Beck and Mary Ellen Gillihan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Theodore "Ted" Kukich Jr. and Melvin "Peach" Kukich Sr. Jack was a Marine Corps Vietnam veteran with the 7th Combat Engineer Battalion and a Purple Heart recipient. He loved playing golf, cards, basketball and trips to the casino and was member of the Bushy Run Post 260 Legion.
