John Larance Obituary

Published by Legacy on Nov. 6, 2025.
John Gregory Larance, 71, of New River, Arizona passed away on October 30, 2025. He left this world wrapped in the love of those at his side and those who carried him in their hearts.
Born in Ruston, LA, on May 30, 1954, to Lois and L.C. (Lawrence Colvin), John's family later moved to Arizona, where they found community and he built his life. John lived fully and joyfully-he loved his family above all else and cherished every moment spent together. An avid golfer, fisherman, and traveler, he embraced life's adventures with curiosity and enthusiasm. John had a genuine interest in people, their stories, and their humanity. He left an impression on everyone he met-a vibrant soul who never missed an opportunity to share a smile, a story, or a laugh with a stranger.
John is survived by his four children and their spouses: Frank and Melissa Larance, John and Lisa Larance, David and Kevin Larance-Patterson, and Michael Larance; His six grandchildren Shelton Larance, Nicholas Larance, Leah Larance, Bonnie Patterson, Cayla Patterson, and Michael Larance; his sister, brother-in-law- and their son; Mary Byrne, Gary Byrne, Greg Byrne; his Uncle Jim Axtel; and his extended family Janet Larance, Shauna Carlson, and Patrick Reedy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Steve Larance, and his first love, Irene Larance.
In keeping with John's request, there will be no formal services. He believed the best way to honor a life well-lived was through kindness and generosity; in that compassionate spirit, the family suggests donations to St. Vincent de Paul in his loving memory.
Though John's presence will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to be loved by him, his life was a gift, his love a legacy, and his memory a blessing that will endure.
