John Clarence Lee, 77 was born to Melvin and Ruby Lee on January 27, 1947, in Jackson Mississippi. He passed away peacefully at his residence in Madera, California on December 27, 2024.
John was a Chef in the United States Army for more than 10 years. He was a member of the V.F.W. Post 1981 in Madera, CA, where he volunteered his time helping with many activities. John volunteered to cook at Christ Temple Church for many years. His cooking did not stop there, he loved to BBQ and cook for his family and many friends. John liked to fish and spend time with his family.
He is preceded in death by his parents Melvin and Ruby Lee and brothers Glenn Lee, Hardy Lee, Melvin Lee, Augusta Brown, and Wille Edward Lee.
John leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 25 years, Phyllis Lee, Stepdaughter; Sharie Spruell, brothers; Robert Richardson, Jr., Willie Richardson, Amos Richardson and his wife Angie, Barry Lee and his wife Linda, Sisters Ernestine Richardson, Gwen Richardson, Henrietta Nichols, Adeal Richardson, sisters in laws; Wille Lean Lee, Rose Lee, Gwen Gaffney, Jackie Bowen, and brother in law Michael Lewis, 2 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, January 16 from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm with a funeral service at 12:00 pm at Jay Chapel, 1121 Roberts Ave., Madera, CA 93637.
A Private Family interment will be at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery.
