John Michael Lee

John Michael Lee, 48, of Canton, passed away Wednesday, September 10th, at Aultman Hospital. Born in Ohio on February 28, 1977, a son of the late Hazel Marie(Grimes) Lee. In addition to his mother, he is preceded in death by his foster parents, Carl and Darlene Oldfield. A kind man, with a happy soul, life wasn't always easy for John. He faced his share of hardship, weathering storms that might have broken a lesser man. But through it all, he never lost his ability to smile. His eyes, always full of light and laughter, told stories he didn't always share out loud. They were the kind of eyes that made you feel seen, safe, and welcome. John had a gift for conversation. Whether chatting with an old friend or a complete stranger, he could talk a mile a minute, and somehow still made every word count. John was also an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and loved to fish. With a fishing rod in hand and the open sky above, he found peace in the stillness. He will most definitely be loved and missed by everyone he leaves behind. Survived by 2 sons Chase R. Butler, Shawn M. Lee; granddaughter Riverlyn G Butler; grandson Cashton R Butler; as well as other loving family members and friends. A memorial service will be held in the Waltner-Simchak Funeral Home on Friday, September 19th from 7:30pm to 9pm.
