Mr. John Lee Ralston, age 97, died peacefully at his home in Eagleville, TN on November 26, 2025. Born on March 22, 1928 in Rutherford County, TN to the late David Wayhat and Mary Francis “Mamie” Turner Ralston. John lived a rich and active life. He loved gospel singings, gardening, visiting with friends, and traveling, with cherished trips to England, Scotland, Ireland, Egypt, Israel, and Italy.
Mr. Ralston retired in 1999 from Franklin Upholstery Company, the business he owned and operated for many years. Throughout his life he worked for several companies, including Jamison Bedding Company and Vultee Aircraft/AVCO Aerostructures, as well as farming, house painting, rental properties, vacuum cleaner sales, antiques, and aluminum siding sales.
He is survived by his son, Edwin (Rita) Ralston of Nashville, TN; daughter, Susan Ralston Harper (Willard) Carrillo of Fort Morgan, CO; four grandchildren, Heather Ralston (Gene) Tucker, Jennifer Harper (Joe) Leachman, Rachel Ralston (Scott) Mancl, Josh (Stephanie) Harper; 10 great grandchildren, Daniel Tucker, Jaiden Leachman, Jentry Leachman, Tegan Ralston, Harley Ralston, Crosby Mancl, Knox Mancl, Lincoln Mancl, Addison Harper, and Colin Harper.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth (Elizabeth) Ralston; a grandson, John William Ralston; the mother of his children, Charlotte King Ralston, one sister, Myrtle Hobbs; and brothers, Andrew, David, Thomas, and Edward Josephus Ralston.
Visitation with the family will be on Tuesday, December 2, from 9 AM until 10 AM at Lawrence Funeral home. The funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, December 2, 2025 at 10 AM from the Chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Bro. Jeff King officiating. Interment will follow at King-Cook Cemetery in Bedford County, TN.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
