Jackie was the father of J Gregory Leonard (Kathy), district fire chief 21A of the Houston Fire Department and Stephanie Leonard Powers(Michael) of Medford, Massachusetts. He was the grandfather of Taylor, Madison, and Hannah of Texas and Liam of Massachusetts. He was the former spouse of Susan Gregory Leonard of Melrose, Massachusetts. Jackie was the brother of the late Patricia Leonard Hayes of Quincy, Massachusetts.
Jackie was very proud of his Boston roots, especially growing up in its historic Charlestown neighborhood. He was a very proud supporter and loved all the local Boston sports teams. He graduated from Charlestown High School in 1961 where he played safety on the football team who won the coveted city championship in 1960.
Jackie's work brought him to locations in Pennsylvania, California, and Florida before he retired to Katy, Texas 21 years ago. He will always be remembered for his easy smile, infectious laugh, and always having a faithful German shepherd by his side.
