Rowlett - John Leslie Bemont, born September 21, 1971, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly, due to a medical event on January 6, 2026. To all who knew him, he was Les Bemont. He was only 54, and was looking to many more years. He was deeply devoted to his Christian faith, a very strong man in every way, and worked extensively on growing as a human. He was determined to make the best life possible for his family, and loved his family and friends deeply and unconditionally. He was a hard worker, and gave his all to everything he chose to do.

He chose to go directly into the field of computer programming, making himself invaluable wherever he went to work. In 2014, while working a full time job, he earned a degree in Computer Science, in only 2 years, achieving Summa Cum Laude. He was a brilliant man. Most of his professional career was spent working at Raytheon, where he was one of the most valued team members. He loved learning new things, especially working on continually becoming a better man. He was grateful for his country, and content with how and where God allowed him to be. He became an excellent rifle and pistol shot, and greatly enjoyed honing his craft. He was very humble and had no pretenses about anything. He loved people as they were, and gave them room and time to grow and change. His grace and mercy were experienced by all who had the honor to know him. He was an honorable, quiet, unassuming, good-natured, long suffering, content and well-adjusted man, thanks to his love for his Creator.

He is being mourned and missed by his beloved wife of 33 years, Maria Jasper Bemont (who always called him Superman), his four exceptional young adult children: Noah, and his wife, Hannah; Isabella, and her husband Matthew; his youngest son, Isaiah, and youngest daughter, Olivia. His brothers James Wesley. and Gary Lane, and father, Jimmie, cousin Lois, and extended family. Before his own passing, he was heartbroken by the death of his beautiful grandson, Forrest Bailey Wilson, who was just shy of three months old at the time of his passing in March of 2025. We are encouraged by the fact that Les is now in the presence of Jesus, his grandbabies, his own mother, Nan, grandfather John Schmiedeke, and grandmother Nadine Schmiedeke, and all others who have gone before him, and had accepted the saving grace of Yeshua. We have had a huge amount of loss in our family, and are facing significant financial challenges during this difficult time.
