John Likar Obituary

John L. Likar III, 69, of North Versailles, died Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at home. He was born April 6, 1955 in McKeesport, a son of Janis (Coghe) Likar of North Versailles and the late John L. Likar Jr. John was a third generation self-employed owner of Likar Roofing Company, North Versailles. He was a member of Mary Mother of God Parish, St. Robert Bellarmine Church and was a member of the board of directors of the Eastern Area Pre Hospital Services, Turtle Creek and also a member of Shidle Lodge No. 601, F. & A.M., Irwin. In addition to his mother he is survived by his wife of 47 years Patricia A. (Hallick) Likar; his children John L Likar IV of Plum, Justin (Cynthia) Likar of Murrysville, Stephen (Lauren) Likar of North Huntingdon; his grandchildren Kayla, Gianna, Justin, Lucas, Lillianne, and Beau; his siblings Mark Likar of North Versailles, Robert (Deborah) Likar of Irwin, Connie (Bob) Lenart of Maryland, and James (Sheryl) Likar of Level Green; also aunts, uncles, and many nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, October 27, at the Forgie-Snyder Funeral Home, 1032 Broadway East McKeesport. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Robert Bellarmine Church, East McKeesport. Private interment will be in Good Shepherd Cemetery. A masonic funeral service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers a contribution can be made to Tunnels to Towers at t2t.org. Dear Patty, children & family of John: Please accept our deepest sympathy & condolences in the passing of your husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. We went to school with John since 1st grade @ St Robert's. John was always happy, funny, a loyal friend and a dear schoolmate. Have many good memories & stories about John.
