John V. Lloyd, a beloved husband and accomplished individual, passed away on December 14, 2024, at his home in Califon, New Jersey, with his wife Patty at his side. Born on August 1, 1951, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, John was the son of the late Robert and Agnes Marzinac Lloyd. He later moved to Bergen County New Jersey, where he graduated from Ramapo High School before earning a Bachelor of Science degree from Drexel University. After first living in Wyckoff with Patty, the two moved to Califon more than 40 years ago where they have lived since.
John built a distinguished career in corporate financial management, lending his expertise to prestigious companies such as Price Waterhouse and Kayser-Roth Corporation. Throughout his career, he held significant positions including Controller and Chief Financial Officer. In addition to his corporate endeavors, John was a passionate entrepreneur, owning and operating two businesses with Patty, "Additions" and "Happy Hatter," both located in Flemington, New Jersey, for more than a decade.
Outside of his professional life, John had a wide array of interests that reflected his vibrant personality. Known for his insatiable curiosity, he was always seeking knowledge and learning new skills. An accomplished and competitive tennis player, he thrived in many senior tournaments, showcasing both his athleticism and dedication to the sport. John was also fond of woodworking, using his talents to create furniture and accessories, as well as undertaking home renovations.
In his personal life, John cherished spending quality time in various pursuits. He enjoyed camping with Patty, and his brothers, Carl and Jim, creating lifelong memories amidst nature. Chopping wood in his yard in Califon and tending to his admired garden brought him immense joy, along with his love for reading and nature photography. John was particularly noted for his culinary skills, often delighting those around him with his cooking and baking—especially his renowned cookies.
Throughout the years, he shared his life with many Standard Poodles, forming deep bonds that exemplified his love for animals. John is survived by his wife, Patricia Atkinson Lloyd, and his brothers and sisters-in-law, Carl and Cindy Lloyd and Jim and Larisa Lloyd.
