John R. Lloyd, 36, of Sasser, GA, passed away on October 30, 2025, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Ken Chancellor will officiate. Interment will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery.

John was born on September 12, 1989, in Albany, GA. He grew up in Albany and Sasser. John graduated from Terrell Academy in 2008, attended Darton College, and earned a Master's degree in Accounting from Valdosta State University. He began his career with Baker and Associates as a Certified Public Accountant. He later joined Burgin Land Partners in Cuthbert and, most recently, was employed with Mallory & Evans in Atlanta. He was a member of the Georgia Society of CPA's. Throughout his career John loved working on complex problems and was always known for his analytical mind.

John had a love for the outdoors and spent many happy days fishing and hunting. He had a passion for food whether it was simple grilling or searching for the unique local places when traveling. He was a talented guitarist and a skilled woodworker. His creativity and kind spirit were evident in everything he did. But greatly he will be remembered for his gentle heart, warm smile, and willingness to always help others. He was a lifelong contributor to St. Jude’s for which he had great compassion.

He was a member of Lakeside Baptist Church and his favorite book of the Bible was Proverbs.

Survivors include his parents, Gary and Deborah Lloyd of Sasser, GA; his brother, David Lloyd of Moultrie, GA; his maternal grandmother, Laverne Osborne, and his paternal grandfather, Buddy Lloyd, both of Albany, GA; his uncle, Jamie (Jill) Osborne of Lee County, GA; and a nephew, Jacob Osborne of Atlanta, GA. Jason (Michelle) Walker of Lee County, Alex and Kameron Walker.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Mathews Funeral Home.

Those desiring may make memorial contributions in memory of John to The Albany Humane Society, 1705 W. Oakridge Dr., Albany, GA 31707, or to St. Jude’s Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
