John Lloyd Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Ewing Funeral Home - Clarion on Jan. 28, 2026.
John E. Lloyd, 65, of Goldfield, passed away on Tuesday, January 27, 2026 at Clarion Wellness and Rehabilitation Center.

Memorial Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM on Saturday, January 31, 2026 at Ewing Funeral Home in Clarion.

John Edward, son of Jack Lloyd and JoAnn (Brown) Doud, was born on September 6, 1960, in Emmetsburg, Iowa. He grew up in Bayard, where he attended and graduated from Estherville High school.

Following high school, John began his working life as a bartender at the VFW. He later worked at Way Out Western, Linda's family owned store where he did boot repair and sales before continuing his career at Massey Ferguson in Blue Earth. John then worked at Arnold Motor Supply in Fairmont and was later transferred to Clarion and Eagle Grove, where he proudly served as manager until September 2025. Over the years, John formed many lasting friendships through his work.

On May 1, 1982, John was united in marriage to Linda Brown in Estherville. Together, they eventually made their home in Clarion, where they raised their daughters.

In his younger years, John loved pheasant and deer hunting and enjoyed fishing trips to the Canada border through Arnold Motor Supply. As an avid golfer, John could often be found on the golf course if he wasn't at home or at work. He proudly scored three holes-in-one over the years! He enjoyed Thursday night golf and card games at Oakridge.

John cherished time spent at home with Linda and the girls. John was very social, loved being around his people, and valued the many friendships he made throughout his life.

John is survived by his wife Linda Lloyd; daughters Alyssa Lloyd and Shanice Lloyd (fiancé Dylan Cross); mother JoAnn Doud; sister Polly Polzella; niece Amber (Matt) Ricozzi; Linda's sister Janet Brown; nephews Steven Brown, Brandon Flygare, Garth (Kristi) Flygare and many other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father and step-mother Jack and Sandy Lloyd; brother-in-law Tom Polzella; Linda's parents James and Harriet Brown; and Linda's siblings Diana Flygare, Steven Brown, and infant sister.
