John Lugrine

John J. Lugrine, passed away on Monday, January 5, 2026, at the age of 103.

A gifted musician and music instructor, John played various instruments throughout his life. While serving his country in the Army Air Corps during WWII, John had to teach himself how to play the bugle and later trained other servicemen how to play as well. He was an avid tennis player and ballroom dancer well into his 90's. John greatly enjoyed travelling all over the world dancing with his late wife, Kathleen. John, retired from the City of Philadelphia in 1978, where he worked as a finance manager.

Beloved husband of the late Kathleen (nee Davies); loving father of Rita, Rocco, Norma, Diane, Jeanette, John Peran, Vincent and the late David. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

John was predeceased by his former wife, Anna (nee Peran) and his siblings, Rocco, Margaret, Liz, John and Rose.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet his family on Monday, January 12, 2026, from 9:30 AM until 10:30 AM at St. Cecilia Church, 535 Rhawn Street, Philadelphia, PA 19111, followed by his Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM. Interment Sunset Memorial Park.
