John S. Lynch Greer, SC John Swanson Lynch, 61, of Greer and Fripp Island passed away Sunday, November 21, 2010 at his home after a lengthy illness. Born in Charleston, West Virginia he was a son of the late William Parsons and Alice Swanson Lynch. John received his BS degree in 1971 from Morris Harvey College. He was the owner of John Lynch Pools on Fripp Island and was well known for being a friend to many whether grilling on the bar-b-cue, out fishing for the day or telling his newest joke. His greatest passion though was being a husband, father and beloved Papa to his four grandchildren. He is survived by his loving family, wife of 41 years, Judy M. Lynch of the home; his daughter and son-in-law, Allison and Marc Workman of Greer; his son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Windsor Lynch of Darlington, SC; his brother and sister-in-law, Allen and Elizabeth Lynch of Powdersville; his sister and brother-in-law, Joanne and Dale Hunt of Greenville; his grandchildren, Luke, Sam and Emma Workman and William Lynch; and his # 1 mother-in-law, Joy Goodwin of Greer. Services will be at 3:00pm Tuesday, November 23, 2010 at The Mackey Mortuary with Pastor John Rose officiating. The family will receive friends at a celebration of John's life following the service at the home of his daughter and son-in-law, 114 Father Hugo Drive in Greer. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Vista Care Hospice, 4006 East North Street, suite S, Greenville, SC 29615.
