John D Macchiaroli

John Dominick Macchiaroli, 89, of the Renaissance, Manchester died Wednesday, July 13, 2022 surrounded by his loved ones. He was born, raised, and resided in Brooklyn, NY until 1993. He lived on Staten Island from 1993 to 2006, and then moved to Manchester, NJ. John, along with his wife Gloria, owned and operated Glo-Gal Inc., a clothing manufacturing company in Brooklyn for over 40 years before retiring in 1997. John proudly served in the Army and fondly reminisced about his time scoping out Hummels in Germany. John enjoyed singing with the Raconteurs, eating Sunday dinner with his family, and betting on horses at Monmouth Park Racetrack. He was a loyal New York Giants & Yankees fan. John is survived by his wife of 68 years, Gloria Macchiaroli, 2 daughters and their husbands, Laura & James Catuogno, and Carolyn & Robert Haverlin, son Mark Macchiaroli, and 4 granddaughters Alyssa, Alexandra, Rebecca, and Lauren. Additionally, he is survived by Joseph Zitolo, whom he loved like a son, and his brother Fred Macchiaroli. He is predeceased by his brothers Tony and Carmine Macchiaroli and sister Mary Cirruzzo. Visitation is Monday 3-7 pm at Oliverie Funeral Home 2925 Ridgeway Road Manchester. Funeral Liturgy is Tuesday at 11:00 am at St John's Church, Lakehurst with interment to follow at the Brigadier Gen William C Doyle NJ Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown.
