Funeral Liturgy for John Maixner, 68, of Dickinson will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, August 14, 2025 at Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson. Burial will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery.
John passed away on July 1, 2025 at CHI St. Alexius Dickinson.
John David Matthew Maixner was born on January 9, 1957 in Grand Forks, ND. He was raised by his parents, Stanley and Patricia (Fisher) Maixner on the family farm near Amidon, ND in Slope County. He attended Woodburry Country School, Scranton High School and later college. John continued to make his home in and around the Dickinson area.
John enjoyed music and played guitar in his early years. He also loved water skiing and took great pride in teaching his family and friends how to water ski. He was great with animals, especially his bum calf, his faithful Dog, Draco and his cat, Fritz.
John is survived by his sister Mary Maixner, Dickinson; nephews, Benjamin Maixner, Dickinson; Patrick (Jen) Maixner, East Grand Forks; great nieces and nephews, Micaela, McKenna, Ryan, Londyn and Lenox; birth siblings, Buddine Bullinger, John Blankendaal and Deidra Handtmann.
He was preceded in death by his parents Stanley and Patricia and birth sibling, Sandy Watkins.
