John Bernard Malnourie, Sanana CiripasIT - "Little Sioux", age 57 of White Shield, ND passed away on October 14, 2025, at Trinity Hospital in Minot, ND with his loving family at his side.

Wake Services will begin at 5:00 PM on Friday October 17, 2025, at the Ralph Wells Community Center with a Prayer Service beginning at 7:00 PM.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday October 18, 2025, also at the Ralph Wells Community Center in White Shield, ND. Burial to follow at the Old Scouts Cemetery.

John was born on June 14, 1968, in Denver, Colorado to Ramona & Budzy (Donald) Malnourie, he was the 3rd oldest of 6 children. In the coming years, the family would move back to White Shield, ND where John would grow up and attend White Shield Elementary & High School graduating in 1986 After High School, John wanted to pursue duties in the Military as he chose to join the Navy with Boot Camp called Recruit Training Command (RTC) in Great Lakes, Illinois. After completing a nine-week (RTC) regiment, John was stationed at the Naval Station Norfolk in Norfolk, Virginia. While there, John attended Class "A" Technical School as an Aviation Electrician Mate (AEM). The program focused on the electronic and electrical systems of Military Aircraft. John graduated from the program in the top 10% of his class. Upon graduating, he was assigned to the USS Coral Sea (CV-43) and toured the Middle East for 8 months then returning back to homeport in Norfolk, VA. He finished his Tour of Duty and was Honorably Discharged.

John searched to find the community that best suited his needs. After a few years, his search led him back to White Shield and there he began his duties in the areas of being a "Stick Carrier" for the Dead Grass Society, a proud member of the Young Hawk/Bear America Legion Post 253 and serving in many capacities for Cultural & Community Events. He was known for his willingness to help when called upon. John worked for the MHA Nation for 27 years in the different segments of the reservation with his final position at the White Shield Cultural Center in Facilities Management. John also attended many Powwows with his late father Budzy and the Ree Scouts, together they forged many friends along the Powwow trail, and extend a hearty handshake to all the old friends. "See you down the road!"

He is Survived: by Mother Ramona Malnourie & Wife Tina. Children: John Thomas, Devon, Dylan, Johnny, Ethan & Storm. Grandkids: Marley, Ismira Two Hearts, Inala, Izuna, Irina, Itaya Two Horses, Emily "Em", Jacobi, Connor. Nieces: Ramona, Elica, Amanda, Eliana, Lanehya, Jordan, Taylor, Leslie & Amber Fox. Nephews: Dana, Vincent Jr., Jayme Mcfadden & Donald (DJ) Fox Jr. Brothers: Vincent, Thomas, Ramon, Cousin Brother Donald Fox. Sisters: Melinda & Dawn. He also welcomed into his life Seth Wolf, Brittany Bruce, Carlee Bruce.

John is preceded in Death by: His Father Budzy (Donald), Aunts Lena & Donna. Cousins Ralph & Vida (Liliian) Fox. Paternal Grandparents Vida & Vincent Malnourie. Maternal Grandparents Santana & Juan Melchor.
