A Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. John J. Maloney will begin at 10:00 AM Monday, October 28, 2024, at St. Patrick Catholic Church with Fr. Augustine Pallimattam officiating. Interment will follow at St. Patrick Catholic Church Cemetery. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.
Mr. Maloney, 90, of Meridian, died peacefully, Monday, October 21, 2024, at his home at Aldersgate Retirement Community.
John was a devoted follower of Christ, and this was evident in all he did. He was a parishioner of St. Patrick Catholic Church and was also a Fourth Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus. He was a generous man of both his time and talents. He often put others first and made sure all he met felt loved and welcomed. He was a bingo caller for his brothers and sisters at Aldersgate and also enjoyed ministering at the Lost Gap Prison for over 15 years. His favorite title was "Pap Pap" to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom he loved dearly. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy and also retired as the Fire Chief at NAS Meridian.
John is survived by his loving wife, Pat Maloney; children Selina Ratliff, Debbie Dawson, John Maloney, Jr. (Linda), Teresa Cranmore (Terry), Donald Maloney (Liz), Ronald Maloney (Pam); his bonus children, Mary Pat Linton (Ray), and Eileen Neugebauer (Mark); 20 Grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Mr. Maloney is preceded in death by his parents, James and Helen Maloney; his first wife, Antonia "Toni" Maloney; and his siblings, Patrick Maloney and Marie "Mimi" Lenz.
Pallbearers will be the Knights of Columbus of St. Patrick Catholic Church.
The Maloney Family suggests that memorials be made as donations to the Sunday Fund at Aldersgate Assisted Living, the Chapel Project at St. Patrick Catholic School, or the Building Fund at St. Patrick Catholic Church.
