John Anthony Marcelle

Mr. John Anthony Marcelle, age 73 of Robinson, IL passed away at 8:05 AM on Thursday April 6, 2023, at St. Vincent's Hospital in Evansville, IN following a very brief illness.
John was born in Bronx, New York on August 13, 1949, to Renee' and Adele (Cuson) Marcelle. He graduated high school in Bronx, New York in 1967 and then attended a 2 yr. Jr. College in Bronx, New York. John served six years in the U.S. Navy and was an adjutant for the Captain of the USS Coral Sea Aircraft Carrier during the Vietnam War. He married his first wife, Joanne, and they were later divorced. After they divorced, John married Geraldine "Gerry" (Doll), and they eventually divorced as well. His first wife, Joanne Marcelle passed away in August of 2022.
John was employed as a meat cutter with Albertson's supermarkets, Lucky's Food Stores and finally with Safeway Supermarkets, all in the state of California. When he moved to Robinson, IL, he became a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness in Robinson, IL.
Survivors include a son, Jesse Aaron Marcelle, Robinson, IL, a daughter, Ms. Julie Ann Marcelle, Twin Falls, ID; four grandchildren, Emily Mae Marcelle, Deltona, FL, Tyler John Parks, Twin Falls, ID, Taylor Marie Guaydecan, Twin Falls, ID, Tara Renee' Stockton, Twin Falls, ID and two great grandchildren. Other survivors include his former wife and caregiver, Geraldine "Gerry" Connelly, Robinson, IL; brothers and sisters-in-law, Phil and Kim Marcelle, Ft. Collins, CO, Renee' "Sonny" Marcelle, Tampa, FL; sisters and brothers-in-law, Cindy and Mickey Grigg, New York, NY, Arlene Marcelle, New York, New York, Marlene Marcelle, CT, Helaine Marchese, Deltona, FL, Pauline Marcelle, Deltona, FL, Dolly Marcelle, Yonkers, NY, Simone Marcelle, New York, NY, Cecile Marcelle, New York, NY, Yvonne Caladrino, Long Island, NY, Billie Joe and Ronnie Danbrosio, Tampa, FL and many many nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents; wife, Joanne Marcelle; a son, John Anthony Marcelle, Jr. in 1982 and sisters, Linda Troise and Barbara Ricardi.
Cremation rites have been accorded and there will be a Celebration of Life Service held at a later time.
