John James Mauritz, age 36, of Princeton, died peacefully at home on Saturday, December 13, 2025.

He was born December 16, 1988, in Neenah, WI, the son of James and Jean Halsey Mauritz. John was in the special needs program and a graduate of Berlin High School.

John worked for Fox River Industries in Berlin, then Diverse Options in Ripon. John loved the water and swimming very much. He would joyfully make animal noises to make everyone laugh! There was never a dull moment around John. He knew how to make people smile. John enjoyed boating, fishing, camping and Halloween.

He is survived by his parents; two sisters, June Halsey and Jessica (Jake) Plonsky; nephews, Antonio, Dominik (Grace), Navedyn, Spenzer (Jade), Xavier, JaZeus and Malakaii; nieces, Zahkyria, Ambriyah and Remington; great-nephew, Finn; great-niece, Emealya; uncles, Francis Mauritz and Gordon Halsey; aunts, Nancy Scolley and Marj Westermann; numerous cousins, including his favorite cousin, Heather (Dennis) Scolley; and his care providers, Nova (Brad) Schultz. John was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lois (Oren) Halsey and John (Luella) Mauritz; aunts, Nancy (Larry) and Lucille; uncles, Roger, Russell and Allen; and niece, Harlow.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Monday, December 22, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., at Barbola Funeral Chapel in Berlin. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. Scott T. Piper officiating.
