It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of John Wayne McAllister, who departed this life on December 27, 2025, at the age of 76. Born on November 8, 1949, in Gastonia, North Carolina, Wayne led a life defined by dedication to his family, his love and devotion to Jesus Christ, also his joy of adventure and travel with his wife Jane.
Wayne proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps from December 1, 1969, until his honorable discharge after an injury, achieving the rank of E-3. Following his service, he became a valued employee of Firestone, as a specialist in the Tire Cord Treatment Unit throughout his 30 plus years career.
Wayne loved the outdoors and the thrill of adventure. He enjoyed riding dirt bikes, hiking, and participating in sports such as bowling and softball, where he earned the name Crazy Legs Kelly. A devout NASCAR enthusiast, he took great pleasure in recording races to watch later without interruptions. Wayne and Jane cherished quality time together attending many Gospel Singings. However, his most cherished moments were those spent surrounded by his beloved family.
Wayne is survived by his devoted wife, Jane McAllister; his daughter, Tracy Reese, her fiancé Kevin Michael Null; his son, Jason McAllister, and daughter-in-law, Wendy McAllister; step-daughter, Angie Riddle and husband Scott Riddle; step-daughter, Cindy Lanford and husband Dale Lanford.
