Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A. - SykesvilleJohn B. McBride, 79, of Woodbine, MD passed away on Sunday, September 14, 2025, at Frederick Health Hospital.
He was the husband of the late Midge C. Boteler McBride.
Born October 11, 1945, in Bethesda, MD the son of the late Marion Hill McBride and the late John Joseph McBride.
He was very active with the Widow and Widowers of Howard County, the 50's Plus Travel Group and the Mt. Airy Senior Center. He was well loved by all his friends he made in these groups. He also enjoyed bowling, working in his yard and making and repairing things in his workshop. John loved taking his dog Angel for car rides and walks in various parks. He was also a longtime Washington Commanders fan.
He is survived by Charles E. Boteler & wife Jill, Curt Boteler & wife Melanie, and Melinda Herndon & husband Rick; 9 grandchildren; Meghan Leatherman (Sean), Chelsey Ponce (Sean), Joshua Herndon (Ramona), Colin Boteler (Kelly), Allison Scott (Michael), Ashleigh Pearson (Cody), Ryan Boteler, Cody Boteler (Samantha), Shyla Herndon-Dye (Daniel); and 11 great-grandchildren; Olivia and Harper Leatherman, Lane, Lucy and Miles Ponce, Paisley and Davina Scott, Grace and Zoe Herndon, Adaleigh Herndon-Dye and Holly Pearson.
Preceded in death by brother Joseph G. McBride
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at 11 AM with a gathering from 10-11 AM at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A. 1212 West Old Liberty Road Sykesville, MD 21784 (beside South Carroll High School).
Inurnment at Lake View Memorial Park Cemetery will be private
